Students will learn to identify the plant in the wild using (always use at least four sources!) and harvest and dry the plant. Students will learn the history of its use, its ecolo gical function in the landscape, and why we prefer to use a whole plant extract. Students will learn to extract the medicinal compounds using both water and alcohol and then to concentrate it into a useable form.
