80mm Internal Diameter PrimaLuceLab PLUS System Compatible CNC-Machined Aluminum Construction Hard-Anodized Finish Three-Point Adjustment Screws with Nylon Tips Description FAQ Specifications In the Box Downloads Warranty PrimaLuceLab Guide Rings PLUS 80mm The PrimaLuceLab Guide Rings PLUS 80mm offer a high-precision mounting platform for guide scopes and finders with an 80mm outer diameter. CNC-machined from a single block of aluminum, these 80mm rings integrate seamlessly into the PrimaLuceLab PLUS ecosystem for a rigid, zero-flexure setup. CNC-Machined 80mm Rings for Zero-Flexure Guiding Differential flexure is the primary source of poor guiding. These 80mm rings combat this by using a high-precision manufacturing process, where each ring is machined from a solid block of aluminum. This ensures perfect roundness and structural integrity that cast or bent metal rings cannot match. The aluminum is then sandblasted for a smooth finish and hard-anodized to increase surface durability and prevent corrosion. Each ring includes three adjustment screws with nylon tips, allowing you to securely center your guide scope without marring its finish, ensuring your autoguiding system remains perfectly aligned with your main telescope all night. Multiple Mounting Options for the 80mm PLUS Rings As a core component of the PrimaLuceLab PLUS (Prima Luce Universal System), these 80mm rings are designed for maximum compatibility within the ecosystem. They feature threaded holes that allow direct, rigid connection to other PLUS components without the instability of stacked adapters. You can mount the 80mm rings directly on top of an EAGLE computer, a PLUS dovetail plate, or PLUS support rings. For users with equipment outside the PrimaLuceLab system, a central threaded hole provides a secure connection point for attaching the rings to third-party plates or accessories using a single screw. What is the internal diameter of the PrimaLuceLab PLUS Guide Rings? These guide rings are designed to hold a telescope tube with an outer diameter of 80mm. They are ideal for many 50mm and 60mm guide scopes, as well as some larger optical finders. How do I mount the PrimaLuceLab PLUS 80mm Guide Rings to an EAGLE computer? You can install the 80mm guide rings directly onto the top of any EAGLE model. The rings are designed to be attached using the included plates and screws, providing a solid, flat base for a secure connection without any flexure. Can I use these 80mm guide rings with a non-PrimaLuceLab dovetail plate? Yes. While designed for the PLUS system, each 80mm ring includes a central threaded hole. This allows you to mount the rings to a third-party dovetail plate or support ring using a standard screw, offering broad compatibility. What are the PrimaLuceLab PLUS 80mm rings made of? The rings are CNC-machined from a solid block of aluminum. This process ensures high precision and rigidity. They are then sandblasted for a smooth surface and hard-anodized to protect against scratches and oxidation. Will these 80mm rings fit a 60mm guide scope like the PrimaLuceLab CompactGuide? Yes, absolutely. The 80mm internal diameter is the correct size to accommodate the 80mm PLUS guide rings that come standard with the 60mm CompactGuide scope, or if you are mounting a similar guide scope directly. The three-point adjustment screws allow you to securely center the guide scope inside the rings. What is the main advantage of the PLUS system for these 80mm guide rings? The PLUS system is a modular ecosystem of plates, rings, and clamps that connect together with multiple screws, not just one. For the 80mm guide rings, this means you can create a completely rigid imaging train from your main telescope to your guide scope, eliminating a common source of flexure that can ruin long exposures.
