This has always been one of my favorite paintings. I intended it to be minimal which is easy to want but hard to do. it's also the only time I used this particular floral print whi ch was hand drawn, photocopied on toner and then was chemically transferred onto the piece after the paint completely dried. this process gives the pattern a "news print" quality. The centered figure and unpainted background allows this girl to float and become more than just a figurative painting.
