The instructions below are derived from established silicone HTV standards and our own testing. Always perform a test press on a fabric swatch before production. Settings may vary by heat press brand, platen calibration, and fabric type. Application instructions 1 Print your design — eco-solvent only, right-reading Print in right-reading orientation (do not mirror). Use eco-solvent inks only. After printing, allow 30–60 minutes dry time before cutting — silicone surfaces absorb ink differently than PU and benefit from additional outgassing time. Do not rush this step. 2 Cut — shiny side up, 45° blade Cut with the shiny/print side facing up. Start with a 45° blade. Silicone is thicker than standard printable HTV — adjust blade depth slightly deeper than your usual PU settings. Run a test cut before the full job. Minimum recommended line thickness: 1/16” for lettering and logos. 3 Weed excess material Silicone weeds cleanly. Remove all excess material from around and within your design. The non-tacky liner means the weeded material releases without residue. 4 Mask with high-tack transfer tape Silicone has a non-tacky surface. Standard easy-mask tape may not grip adequately. Use TTD High Tack or equivalent high-tack heat transfer tape. Apply the mask firmly using a squeegee. If the mask is not gripping, try warming the vinyl slightly with a heat gun before masking. 5 Pre-press the garment Pre-press for 2–3 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. For dazzle cloth, shiny polyester, or coated performance fabrics: lightly wipe the application area with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry before pressing. This helps the silicone adhesive penetrate the fabric surface. 6 Press — always use a cover sheet Position your design on the garment. Place a Teflon or silicone cover sheet over the design before pressing. This is not optional — pressing bare will over-press the silicone and damage the finish. Press settings (derived — always test first) 285°FTemperature 10–15sTime MediumPressure ColdPeel Critical: Do not over-press Silicone compresses under excess heat or time. Over-pressing flattens the rubber texture and can cause adhesion failure. If your design has a flat or shiny look after pressing, your settings are too high or your press time too long. Back off temperature or time by 5–10 units and retest. 7 Peel cold Allow the transfer to cool completely before removing the carrier/mask. Peeling warm or hot will pull up the design. Peel slowly at a low angle. If any section lifts, re-press that area with the cover sheet for 5–8 additional seconds and allow to cool again before re-peeling. 8 Optional: re-press to seal edges After removing the mask, place the cover sheet back over the design and press for 5 seconds. This seats the edges and improves long-term wash durability.
