The rest of the chassis is constructed from a sturdy metal sheet, ensuring stability and protection from external mechanical and electromagnetic interference. This design pays homage to our original CD Box, which also combined an aluminium front panel with a metal chassis, creating a timeless aesthetic. Unlike DVD or Blu-ray players, dedicated CD players often provide superior playback of stereo CDs. The CD Box E houses a true Red-Book CD drive in shock-proof mounting, delivering high-quality sound with its 24-bit/192kHz DAC and multi-bit delta-sigma setup, ensuring fine resolution and accurate sound reproduction. The drive and architecture enable 1:1 bit-accurate CD playback, just like its higher-end counterparts. Its low-impedance output buffer helps minimise interference from cables, and the S/PDIF coaxial output allows connection to an external DAC for even greater flexibility and performance.
