The Debut Reference 10 is the pinnacle of the Debut range - a classic series of products that have been the mainstay of the Pro-Ject range since 1999. The Reference 10 takes the materials and engineering further than ever before within this family. The platter is made from acrylic, a material that 'impedance matches' well with the vinyl and is low on resonance. This rests on a beautifully precision diamond turned CNC'd sub platter, which aids speed stability and resonance control. The motor is fully decoupled on its own heavy base to prevent the vibration reaching the stylus. It's electronically controlled and speed change between 33.3 and 45rpm is done by a button. is possible by using a different pulley kit and 78 stylus (both not included but available separately). The tonearm is longer than normally found on the Debut models, it's 10" long, hence the number in the model name! This longer arm helps reduce tracing errors as it transcribes less of an arc as it goes across the LP. The arm is made with an aluminium core and covered in a carbon fibre skin, which helps reduce the inherent colouration that the materials would exhibit if used on their own. The arm is adjustable for Azimuth and VTA, which is useful if changing to a different cartridge, but the deck does comes prefitted with a Pro-Ject Pick it PRO Balanced MM cartridge. The turntable is wired for both conventional single ended RCA outputs (a cable is included) as well as a balanced connection via a mini XLR connector on the rear.
