The Pro Kit was originally co-developed with mechanics at the Team Sky service course. The selection reflects the workflow of a mobile race-team mechanic: drivetrain service, brake service, headset and hub work, and the small-fastener spread a modern road or MTB build runs on, in a case sized to ride in a team car and open at a roadside. The 1600PROKIT-US is built around the 970PROKIT case, filled with a carefully considered selection of tools that covers routine maintenance of any current bicycle without burdening you with tools you will not need. There is intentional spare capacity in the case; the design assumption is that a working mechanic adds the brand-specific tools their fleet needs (a Campagnolo lockring socket, a specific BB30 puller) and the case still closes. What the case carries The 970PROKIT case carries: Hanging pallet: 9 pockets sized for pliers and side-cutters, or combination wrenches, or hex wrenches. Fixed upper pallet with wings: holds screwdrivers, hexes, pens and markers, plus a velcro pouch for small items (spoke wrenches, threadlock) that otherwise drift to the bottom of the case. Base with fixed divider: sized for cassette lockring tools, the Cassette Wrench, a hammer, and similar full-size tools. The divider keeps the base contents from shifting during transport. Travel and security Double-throw latches are shielded so they will not catch on car-trunk hardware or open mid-transit. Lockable lug holes accept a padlock for travel security; strap-loop holes accept a shoulder strap (sold separately) when the case is loaded out for race day. The 970PROKIT base case is IP67 rated, so tools stay dry in the rain so long as the case is closed and latched.
