It's also one of the most exciting. Following in the footsteps of the wonderful Studio 140 and 148 lines the DT8 is housed in a slightly smaller enclosure making them visually less intrusive. The tweeter is offset and located between the mid bass drivers and is unusual in that it combines two very different drivers covering the mid/bass region, the lower one a paper cone and the upper a polypropylene, with the aim being to maximise the strengths of both materials They produce a sound that is substantial and room filling. They've got great bass weight and extension but thanks to the downward firing port arrangement onto the integral plinth are more flexible than most in terms of their room positioning. These speakers are fun to listen to, they're dynamic and toe tapping whilst also being easy to drive.
