This is a moistening and nourishing herb that builds blood and can help w/clinical presentations of blood deficiency-- presenting as pale, sallow complexion, anemia, dizziness, palpitations, and insomnia. It is also a treasured women's herb that can help with irregular menstruation and other gynecological concerns (rooted in blood deficiency). This herb also builds yin (of the Kidney and Liver organ systems) and is the chief ingredient in classical TCM formulas that nourish this aspect of the body (e.g. Liu Wei di Huang Wan).
