Figurative art has always been at the heart of my practice, inspiring everything I create. I am deeply fascinated by the human form and often depict it through an abstract lens. My influences come from the body itself, the physicality of paint, and the expressive power of gesture. While subject matter holds significance, aesthetic elements—colour, composition, and brushwork—ultimately take precedence. New figuration refers to artistic tendencies in art that rejected the aesthetics of impersonal abstract art and updated various forms of return to the figure. While they assumed a human phenomenon, the human did not have to be physically present - a trace or sign was sufficient.
