About the Course This course is designed to provide you with a broad understanding of what a programme is and how they are controlled. Duration The course will take approximately four to 5 hours to complete. Exam It is an online course without exam. Learning Objectives By the end of the learning, you will be introduced to: The fundamentals of programme management and how it relates to project and portfolio management The PESTLE drivers for change and how programmes operate in a VUCA environment How drivers influence objectives which programmes are trying to contribute towards The types of programmes and how programmes can be of more than one type The importance of a concise vision statement The relationship between a vision statement and high-level design The four main parts of the high-level design (POTI) The importance of the high-level design not being too detailed The concept of a benefit and disbenefit The four main ‘DOAM’ tests of a benefit A typical benefit cycle consisting of “Identify, Plan, Realize and Review” The importance of transition to benefit realisation, and consider how reviewing benefits is critical The different planning levels and the concept of a tranche within our programme plan, a programme business case and the additional costs at programme level over project costs The main programme management roles and who appoints them The importance of stakeholder engagement and outline a typical cycle for stakeholder engagement The concept of the control framework for a programme in the form of its strategies The typical risk and issue management cycles and outline the importance of accurate up-to-date programme information and examine the need for assurance activities to provide confidence
