We all have added an app to our phones as a matter of convenience. With an app, we can get a discount on gas at the pump or free shipping for items purchased through an online store. However, we don’t always know what the app may provide. While we have downloaded it for a simple though intentional reason, we may not realize how much more is available in it for us. Perhaps there are daily specials or “member benefits” that we overlook because we haven’t taken the time to really examine them. Prayer is very similar. We know we should pray more often, but we tend to focus on prayers at specific times of the day. We know that prayer offers counsel for us at different times in our lives; however, we often fail to cultivate a mind to listen because our prayers are either rote and programmed or they are so wordy that we don’t stop long enough to listen. Yet prayer is our personal conduit to the mind and person of God.
