The Giesel Cardigan pattern was designed by Irina Anikeeva as part of the Vernal pattern collection. Our sample was knit in Miss Babs Yummy 3-Ply in the Candied Pecan colorway. The main attraction of this modern oversized cardigan lies in its understated box shape, perfect for layering, and back, worked entirely in the lace pattern, reminding me of bunch of butterflies. The smoothness of the stockinette on the fronts and sleeves juxtaposes the intricacy of the lace. The body of Giesel is knit flat in a single piece. The stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole and worked in the round to the cuff. You'll need 3-6 skeins of Yummy 3-Ply, depending on your size, to complete this project.
