The Gwiazda pattern was designed by Kirsten-Michele. This sweater is shown here in Yowza in White Peppercorn and Sagrada with Obsidian, Kobold, French Marigold, and Turmeric in Yowza Mini. The yoke motif of Gwiazda has been inspired by the beautiful hand embroidered patterns found on ladies’ shirts in the mountainous Jurgów area in Poland. Gwiazda, which means star in Polish, is a top down seamless yoke sweater with a deep colorwork chart that uses stars and diamonds to create a striking yoke. The neckline features double ribbing with integrated increases and is followed by short rows at the back of the neck to create a comfortable fit. This is followed by stranded knitting that is worked in multiple colours. The chart continues past the arm and body divide for almost all of the sizes. The sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch and the cuffs and body are finished off in double ribbing. The body has optional waistline shaping for a flattering fit. You'll need three to four skeins of Yowza and five to six skeins of Yowza Mini to complete this project. Choose the original colorway below − or try another color! The Gwiazda pattern is available on Ravelry. All patterns are sold separately and not included with the purchase of yarn.
