The Maritima pattern was designed by Susanna IC. Our sample was knit in Miss Babs Gradient Set in the Maritima colorway. Maritima is a striking crescent shawl worked in a tradition al Shetland pattern reminiscent of rippling ocean waves adorned with lacy foam. The shawl is worked from the top down and shaped into a versatile crescent with easy garter stitch short rows; the short row wraps can be left unworked, hidden within the garter texture. Maritima uses six gradient mini skeins of fingering weight yarn and, to make things simple, the color not in use can be carried along the edge for minimal finishing.
