This skirt is a zero waste design with a paperbag look. It's made out of a rectangle with the fabric width as a base. Metal snap fasteners are used to create an oversized pleat and with the belt you can adjust the skirt to your waist. As cherry on the cake there are pockets in the side seam. The inspiration for this design is the Protea flower, whose floral bracts envelop the actual flower, just like this skirt wraps around you. The skirt is also wearable as a mini dress. In a beautiful silk-linen blend by Dries Van Noten (deadstock) and a black, light wool fabric also by Dries Van Noten (deadstock) .
