Protector / Protektor DVDSynopsisThe occupation of Czechoslovakia in March 1939 turns the marriage of radio reporter Emil and his wife Hana, a rising film actress, upside down. Han a is unexpectedly confronted with her Jewish heritage, causing her to fall from the heights of societal status into a peculiar kind of loneliness. In order to protect his wife, Emil compromises his convictions and becomes available to German propaganda, while Hana seeks solace in illusory disguises and small acts of rebellion. Emil's flirtation with collaboration and Hana's besieged way of life drive the desperate couple apart. It's not until the assassination of the acting Reich Protector Heydrich that Emil unknowingly crosses a line and soon rebels against his humiliation.
