All profits from Vanessa's art will support the work of Safe Haven Housing Trust and the Wellington City Mission Vanessa was a person of deep Christian faith. This faith was expressed in much of her art. This aspect of her art was particularly reflected in her paintings after her cancer diagnosis. We share here a few of these paintings that we think Vanessa would be happy to share, and that might bring some comfort to others in dark times. The tauhou is a bird that has come to be considered native by Māori, after it was blown to Aotearoa from Australia by a fierce storm. Vanessa was inspired by this story, and by the song Tauhou by Aro, which reflect on the way that we approach the storms of life, either as fearful, or as opportunities to write a new, different story.
