The Perahan O’Tumban (PT) Pajama is a design simultaneously returning to an ancient home & living in the radical contemporary. Produced by our allies at Jabs the PT PJ lies at the dual apex of European elegance & Eastern functionality, both a pajama for home & a local uniform for much of the world. Dually designed for leisure & the understanding that leisure for many is physical. The PT PJ’s generous lines are derived from the classical dress of arid environments, yet worn tucked it’s high & wide set waistline creates an idealized masculine silhouette. The speed-reload chest pocket allows an Observer to stow, secure & retrieve a cell phone in a singular motion. Traditional hidden side seam pockets have been improved with a high-holster placement & securing tabs. Western style pant pockets have been added to the heavily pleated trousers, along with side slits at the hem for greater articulation. A high waistband with a generous tie allows for adaptability both in tucked & untucked silhouettes along with pervading ease. While the tailoring is 100% Kuwaiti, our fabric of choice is a fine espresso cotton poplin from Caccioppoli in Italy. The PT PJ is the first public offering of a 3 year long project between Observer & Kuwaiti Tailors/ Designers Jabs. Bonding over a mutual passion for preserving culture & progressing tailoring, I field tested 6 different designs in Afghanistan & a further 3 prototypes across the rest of the world. Together we perfected a design that serves a multitude of purposes across two worlds, with zero compromise. Robert wears a size Small and is 5'10, Junn wears a size Medium and is 6"
