The '62 Stratocaster Pickup is a faithful reproduction of the PU installed in the 1962 Fender Stratocaster, and is a single coil with a slightly brighter mid and thicker low end than the 1950s, and a soft, fat sound. Like Monty's '54 Stratocaster Pickup, it is only partially potted, so there is no wax in the center of the coil, allowing for a clearer and faster response. It's a pickup with a pleasant mid that clings to your picking, with not only a moderately glossy clean sound, but also a dirty overdrive sound reminiscent of blues rock of yesteryear.
