Our first Art Series project was working with renowned Irish Artist Patrick Scott and his Pub Wall motif which he originally designed in 1954 as part of a commission for John McGuire. We first printed this motif onto Irish Linen, the blue version of which hung at Scott’s Retrospective at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 2014. This motif the Scott created was inspired by Dublin pubs in the 1950’s which often used a triangular tile in their interiors. We then produced the motif as a tapestry, working with the wonderful Dixon Carpet company who had, under their previous name V’Sosky and Joyce, been the weavers/makers of all of Patrick’s earlier tapestries that he had designed. These tapestries come in blue, red and green versions, which are true to the original colours created in 1954.
