Pumice (Bims) is a natural volcanic stone formed when lava cools rapidly and traps countless air pockets inside. This unique process makes it lightweight, porous, and highly effect ive in plant soil mixes. Weight & texture: Very lightweight, soft, and airy Porosity: Extremely porous, absorbs water and nutrients, then gradually releases them. Acts like a sponge while remaining breathable. Best uses: Ideal for mixes where moisture balance is important (aroids, orchids, bonsai, succulents). Keeps roots airy while retaining just enough water. Its irregular surface structure improves drainage and aeration, allowing roots to breathe and preventing compaction. Unlike organic materials, pumice does not break down over time, ensuring long-term stability in the mix. It also supports beneficial microbial life in the root zone, helping plants establish stronger and healthier root systems. Packaging Packed in resealable ziplock bags. Sold per 2 and 5 liters.
