Punga Amarilla - Botanical name unknown (pun-ga ama-riya) The head medicine spirit of this tree is a yellow anaconda — agile, perceptive, and deeply attuned to the energetic body. Punga Amarilla is traditionally used for extracting and cleansing specific negative energies, bringing both purification and protection. The colour of its energetic medicine is yellow, reflecting both the tree’s name and the snake’s distinctive markings — a colour that is inspiring and illuminating. At times, we may feel or sense energies that need to be released, yet removing them alone can feel difficult. The spirit of the yellow anaconda moves with precision, tracing what must be removed and gently drawing it out through its ancient snake medicine. This same presence also offers protection for both the individual and their space, weaving a shield of alert awareness around the one who calls upon it. Each essence has been prepared with its own medicine song, an icaro. Icaros are a form of communication between the shaman and the spirit world, carrying the healing intention and calling forth the tree’s medicine.
