NOTE: indicated models are on backorder and will ship by the end of August PURE ships in two hardware generations. Neither replaces the other, and the right pick depends on the DSP to be used, and the controls you need. Gen1 and Gen2 differ in how they control volume. Gen1 adjusts volume through the DSP’s wired analog remote-control input. It therefore requires a DSP adapter matched to the processor which is included in the sale. Gen2 requires no DSP adapter, as it performs volume attenuation internally before it delivers the digital SPDIF signal to the DSP. This broadens the range of compatible processors and frees the DSP’s remote input for accessory digital controllers like Helix's Conductor or Director, for example. Retaining the wired remote architecture means Gen1 can also support integrated subwoofer-level control, unlike Gen2. Additionally, Gen1 is able to take advantage of DSP's with adjustable loudness contours while Gen2 cannot. Which Generation is right for you depends on the features you prioritize: Get the less expensive Gen1 if you will use an S2i-certified DSP brand (Arc Audio, Helix), or wish to use their programmable loudness feature (aka volume-based EQ). Get the more expensive Gen2 if you will use an alternate brand DSP, or if you wish to use an accessory digital remote control for additional features like tone control, preset switching, etc. (i.e. Helix Conductor/Director, Audison DRC MP CAN). IMPORTANT NOTES: PURE comes with a two-foot pigtail harness. If you prefer an extended length harness, add this upgrade to your order. Finally, if you don't already have a required Toslink optical digital cable we offer them at a reasonable price in 6, 10 and 15-foot lengths. PURE Gen2 User Manual (Coming Soon)
