Epic Pure XP Pitcher Replacement Filter The Epic Pure XP Replacement Filter maintains the filtration performance of Epic’s Pure XP pitcher and dispenser systems. It is designed pri marily for municipal tap water and targets contaminants such as PFAS, fluoride, lead, chlorine, microplastics, pharmaceuticals, and parasites while leaving naturally occurring trace minerals in the water. Why We Consider It Good Stuff We appreciate that Epic publishes specific testing and certification information. The Pure XP is NSF certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372. Epic also reports independent testing to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, 401, and P231, with additional PFAS testing conducted according to current NSF/ANSI/CAN 53 criteria. Certification and independent testing are not interchangeable, so we preserve that distinction. The filter uses Epic’s CoreXchange™ dual-layer system, combining enhanced nano-fiber media with a carbon-fiber block in a gravity-fed format. The replaceable inner-cartridge design lets you keep the outer housing, reducing the amount of plastic discarded with each replacement. Choose the Correct Version Pure XP Filter (cased): Includes the outer housing and inner cartridge. Select this version if you do not already have a compatible XP housing. Pure XP Replacement Cartridge: Contains only the replaceable inner cartridge. It will not function by itself. Important: Do not purchase the cartridge-only option unless you already own the reusable Pure XP outer casing. Capacity and Replacement Timing The Pure XP is rated for up to 100 gallons, or approximately three to four months of typical household use. Water quality and daily consumption affect actual filter life. Replace it sooner if flow or taste changes significantly, or if you reach the rated capacity. Pure XP or Nano XP? Choose Pure XP when fluoride reduction and broad municipal-water contaminant reduction are priorities. Choose Nano XP when microbiological reduction for bacteria and viruses is the central concern; Nano XP does not reduce fluoride. Always compare the current test sheet with the contaminants identified in your local water report. How to Use Place the new filter or cartridge into the compatible Epic housing, install it in the pitcher or dispenser, and complete Epic’s priming procedure before drinking. Use with cold water only.
