Seachem Purigen® is a premium synthetic filtration resin designed to remove organic waste and impurities far more efficiently than standard media. With a unique macro-porous struct ure and massive surface area, it polishes aquarium water to unmatched clarity and helps control ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels by targeting nitrogenous waste before it becomes a problem. Ideal for both freshwater and marine setups, Purigen® remains effective long-term and changes colour as it exhausts, making it easy to monitor. It’s also easily regenerated, making it a highly economical choice for keeping aquariums clean and healthy. * Highest organic removal capacity on the market* Targets nitrogenous waste – improves water quality and clarity* Helps control ammonia, nitrite & nitrate* Regenerable with standard bleach – reusable for months* Safe for freshwater and marine aquariums How to Use:• Rinse before use• Place in a fine mesh bag (180 micron or less)• 250mL treats up to 1,000L for up to 6 months• Exhausted resin turns dark brown or black Regeneration Instructions:• Soak in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours• Rinse thoroughly• Soak in dechlorinator (e.g. 4 tbsp of Seachem Prime® per cup of water) for 8 hours• For freshwater tanks, follow with a 4-hour soak in a buffer (e.g. Discus Buffer®)• Do not reuse if bleach smell remains – test with a chlorine test kit if unsure ⚠️ Note: Do not use with slime coat products during regeneration – may permanently foul the resin.
