Purple Fountain Beech or Fagus sylvatica 'Purple Fountain' Weeping Purple Beech Tree is a deciduous tree with a columnar and cascading shape. At maturity it can reach a height of 2 5’ but still only spread to 15’. It bears alternate, simple leaves which are 2”-4” long, with wavy margins. The leaves start out the summer with a nice purple color, though the intensity fades as the summer progresses. It is slow to leaf out in the spring.
