Hardy in zones 3-9, its flowers emerge in the early summer between when the japanese irises bloom and when the tall bearded irises bloom. 'Purring Tiger' Iris grows best in full sun to part shade locations. It requires moderate to consistent watering (don't let the soil dry out), and it is a great option for near water sources such as streams and ponds.
