Produced in Washington’s Columbia Valley, Bear Cub has earned a strong reputation for delivering rich Cabernet-driven character with exceptional balance and drinkability. Named as the playful sibling to the flagship Pursued by Bear Cabernet Sauvignon, Bear Cub combines Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller proportions of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc depending on vintage. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, adding depth, spice and texture while maintaining vibrant fruit character. On the nose, expect aromas of blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, dark cherry and vanilla spice layered with cocoa, cedar and subtle toasted oak. The palate is rich and smooth with flavours of cassis, plum, mocha and dark chocolate balanced by silky tannins and fresh acidity. Unlike many overly heavy New World reds, Bear Cub retains freshness and balance alongside its ripe fruit and generous texture. It works equally well as a standalone sipping wine or paired with grilled steak, barbecue dishes, burgers, roast meats and mature cheeses.
