The picturesque fishing village of Crail is situated on the east coast of Scotland, in the county of Fife. The curved breakwater, providing shelter from the Forth, dates back to th e 16th century. The straight west pier, was built by Robert Stevenson in 1826. Stevenson was a lighthouse engineer, whose many noteworthy achievements were somewhat overshadowed by his grandson Robert Louis Stevenson of literary fame.
