Power Amplifier Section The Platina Integrated is built around a dual-mono Class AB power amplifier section rated at 2 × 200W into 8 ohms and 2 × 300W into 4 ohms. A custom-designed 630VA high-power toroidal transformer with 44,000µF of filter capacitance per channel and cascaded voltage regulators in both the analogue and digital sections underpin the amplifier's authority and composure. Engineered to drive demanding loudspeakers with scale, grip, and control, the power amplifier section resolves the finest musical details across the full dynamic range from the subtlest harmonic overtones to the full force of a dynamic crescendo. ES9038Pro DAC and Digital Capabilities At the heart of the Platina Integrated's digital section is an ESS ES9038Pro DAC chip, one of the most highly regarded DAC solutions in high-end audio design. Two high-precision master clocks — one for the 44.1kHz family and one for the 48kHz family — maintain astonishingly low jitter levels for improved transparency and imaging. The DAC accepts PCM up to 768kHz and DSD512 via the USB Type-C input, and up to 192kHz via the optical and coaxial inputs. Five user-selectable DAC reconstruction filter settings allow fine-tuning of the sound character to suit the source material and listener preference. Upsampling of lower-resolution PCM streams to either 352.8kHz or 384kHz is also available.
