Also called the Trembling Aspen, the Quaking Aspen (Populous tremuloides) one of the largest natural ranges of any tree in North America. Growing exceptionally vertically, the aspe n reaches 60' tall with a spread of less than 10'. Their trunks are pale white in color whereas their leaves turn a brilliant yellow in autumn. Aspen trees grow through root shoots- sending smaller tree out concentrically creating entire groves of genetically identical trees.
