In 1979, the single “Ai ni Namae no Desire” became the first number one single in the U.S., followed by the smash hits “Save Me” and “Play The Game”. The single “Jigoku e e michi no tsuzure” was another number one single in the U.S., and became Queen's biggest-selling single at the time, a big hit in many countries around the world. The album “The Game,” which included a series of hit singles, expanded the band's musical range from rockabilly to funk disco to new wave, and even introduced synthesizers, a change from the no-synthesizer sound that the band had dared to use in the past.
