FABRIC From floaty georgette to crisp linen, soft cotton to slinky silk/viscose velvet, this pattern makes up well in all sorts of fabric. Once you make one you'll want lots more for every season and occasion! Based on 140cm/11⁄2 yards wide fabric, for both top and trousers you will need 190cm/2 yards for sizes 8–10, or 3m/31⁄3 yards for sizes 12–18. If you have narrower fabric you will need 3m/31⁄3 yards for all sizes. We used georgette from Fashion Enter - read more about it here HABERDASHERY TOP – Small button for back fastening TROUSERS – Wide elastic (at least 4cm/11⁄2") in a complementary colour to your fabric. You will need the length of your waist + 4cm/11⁄2" overlap. The Iceberg Maxi Dress is a slinky long sleeved dress designed for knit fabrics. Striking and comfortable at the same time - this is an extremely quick sew, especially if you have an overlocker/serger - but don't be put off if you don't have one. FITThe fit is snug at the bust and hips with a bit a ease at the waist. VARIATIONS The pattern is drafted to just above ankle length but chop to mid-calf, knee or mini as desired. You could also shorten the sleeves to elbow or cap for endless variations. LEVEL Easy for beginners, quick for the more experienced. FABRICA knit fabric, such as wool, cotton or viscose jersey. A heavier weight fabric will be more flattering and hold the shape of the dress best. You will need 2.2m/2 1/2 yards of fabric, at least 140cm/55" wide. We used x2 scarves from the John Smedley Mill Shop! Read more about it here HABERDASHERY50cm/20ins seam tape. The Komodo Triangle Dress is short and swingy, and so easy to make it can become addictive! The real joy of this pattern is that it only has one piece, and a mere three seams: it'll take you longer to choose the fabric than it will to sew it up! FITThe dress is cut on the bias and fitted through the chest and shoulders, sloping gently out to a flattering fullness at the hem. VARIATIONSCut shorter for a swingy top or tunic. LEVELVery easy, very quick for all! FABRICThe simple shape is just crying out for some statement fabric - a bold print, a laser cut-out or a striking colour. Any weight of fabric will work to different effect: stiffer fabrics will emphasise the cone-like shape, whilst lighter weights will give you more swish. You will need 140cm/11/2 yards square of fabric. As this pattern is cut on the bias, take a look at the lay plan before you buy. We used a laser-cut cotton from Joel & Son Fabrics - read more about it here HABERDASHERY x1 button and loop fastening SIZE RANGE (all 3 patterns) UK 8-18 (we are working hard to update all our patterns to our full size range - watch this space!
