Coil-built, black stoneware clay, matte white glaze Quiet Divide is a low, rounded black clay vessel with a contrasting glaze resembling a steaming latte. It rests on three sturdy feet and curves asymmetrically, swelling to one side before tapering into a small, soft opening that rises from the surface. Quiet Divide is a member of the Orbit Vessel family. The surface traverses a pale upper plane and a black lower body. The boundary between them cuts diagonally across the form, creating a quiet tension between lightness and weight. Measures approximately 10.75” W x 8” H x 9.5” D, 7 pounds, 1 ounce.
