A gerotor pump is positive displacement: it moves a fixed volume per revolution, so the bearings see a consistent oil supply whether the compressor has been running for two minutes or two hours. Balancing the flywheel electronically is a vibration measure as much as an airflow one, and vibration is what loosens fasteners and cracks brackets on a machine that runs all day. Cooling between stages is not a refinement. Compressed air leaves the first stage hot, and hot air is bulky, so a second stage fed uncooled air spends its work moving heat rather than raising pressure.
