Rhododendron 'September Snow' is a highly FRAGRANT, dwarf hybrid rhododendron rased in New Zealand by B.W. Campbell, resulting from a cross between Rhododendron leucaspis and R. edgeworthii. It is prized for its masses of creamy-white flowers with brown anthers and its compact, vigorous growth habit. Highly FRAGRANT as well. This vigorous cultivar develops a dense, rounded habit, typically maturing 2-3 feet tall and wide. Its handsome evergreen leaves provide year-round structure and texture, making it an attractive landscape plant even when not in bloom. The hybrid of leucaspis x edgeworthii is evident in the foliage, being very similar to R. edgeworthii. ‘September Snow’ thrives in partial shade and moist, well-drained, acidic soil enriched with organic matter. It appreciates protection from hot afternoon sun and drying winter winds and rewards proper care with dependable growth and abundant flowering.
