Testing is simple and convenient: just collect your sample and return it for analysis. Why Test for Radiological Contaminants? Unlike other water contaminants, radiological particles are invisible, odorless, and tasteless—yet prolonged exposure can pose significant health risks. Regular testing is the only way to confirm your water is safe from radioactive elements that may occur naturally in groundwater or leach in from surrounding geology. Potential risks include: Cancer – Linked to long-term exposure to uranium, radium, and other radioactive particles. Organ Damage – Uranium can accumulate in the kidneys, causing serious harm. Bone Health Issues– Radium mimics calcium in the body, increasing the risk of bone cancer. Lung Cancer Risk – Radon gas in drinking water can be released into the air and inhaled. Testing ensures your water is safe before problems arise. Our kits include simple, step-by-step instructions for easy use at home. Get Results in 3 Easy Steps 1. Collect Sample Fill kit’s bottles with water & complete enclosed form. 2. Return Sample Return kit using guaranteed next-day delivery. 1. If the spout has a strainer or aerator, remove it prior to sampling Step 2 Samples must be shipped the same day they are collected via guaranteed next day delivery and must be collected after 1:00 p.m. EST to minimize time in transit. Do not collect and/ or ship your samples on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or the day before a National Holiday. Fill all of the bottles, as directed below. Fill all of the bottles to the neck, secure cap, and return to the shipping container. Step 3A Complete the enclosed lab form, making sure to indicate the collection date and time you sampled, type of water, and sample identification (e.g. kitchen sink, well head, etc.) Return the blue ice pack to the kit and place the kit back in the cardboard box with the completed lab form. Step 3B Make arrangements to ship the kit by guaranteed next day delivery [or drop the kit off at our laboratory within 24 hours of collection, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm] to the following address: National Testing Laboratories 556 South Mansfield Street Ypsilanti, MI 48197 If we do not receive your sample within 24 hours of sample collection or if you have not provided the date and time of collection, the bacteria results will be marked INVALID!
