It was invented by British accountant Edward Craven-Walker in 1963, inspired by an unconventional egg timer he observed in a pub. This makeshift timer, constructed from a cocktail shaker filled with bubbling liquids on a stovetop, sparked Craven-Walker's imagination. His innovative creation was officially recognized with the U.S. Patent 3,387,396 for "Display Device," filed in 1965 and issued in 1968.Our Rainbow Diamond Motion Lamp pays homage to this inventive spirit while incorporating modern aesthetics.
