Fermented slowly with a pedigree yeast culture under tightly controlled conditions, Rainier comes forth with a satisfying malty flavor over a slightly fruity background, spiced wit h Chinook, Mt. Hood, and Willamette hop notes. The Rainier brand was sold to General Brewing Company, which moved production to the Olympia brewery in nearby Tumwater, Washington. The Olympia Brewing Company closed in 2003. Rainier Beer is now brewed by Pabst in Irwindale, Ca. For the last 13 years, the historic Rainier lager has been brewed in Irwindale, California. The lager will continue to be brewed there, but Rainier plans to expand production in Woodinville with new beers in the coming years.
