The Raleigh IceCaps played in the East Coast Hockey League (now known as simply the ECHL) from 1991 to 1998. Their home ice was Dorton Arena in Raleigh. The team was forced to move to Augusta, GA, when the NHL's Hartford Whalers moved to North Carolina in 1997 and renamed the Hurricanes. After a year in Greensboro, they moved to a new arena in Raleigh. Show more
