Minuet in Rondo Form$$$$$$This beautiful Menuet en rondeau by Jean-Philippe Rameau was first published in 1724 as part of Rameau's Pièces de clavecin. Within this album, the Menuet en rondeau was presented as an example of the correct style of fingering. Please note that this sheet music contains suggestions for adding ornaments, in accordance with the performance practice of the French Baroque period. Moreover, we suggest applying in Rameau's Menuet en rondeau the French Baroque style of notes inégales. This consists in modifying the rhythm of pairs of notes written in equal note values (here : eighth-notes), giving them a swinging, relaxed sound not unlike that of jazz or blues music. Please note that the fingerings given in this score are Rameau's original fingerings.$$$$$$Duration : 00:44$$$$$$Source : Jean-Philippe Rameau, Pièces de clavecin (Pieces de clavessin avec une methode pour la mechanique des doigts) [Pieces for the Harpsichord with a method for finger action] (Paris, 1724).
