Rangoon opens dark. From the dipstick there is a deep, smoky, almost earth-fired note — the impression of resin meeting hot metal. On the skin it lifts a little, joined by a touch of spice and a faint trail of barn that adds character without pulling the composition into Hindi territory. The smokiness is the key thing to understand here. It is not aggressive. It is not the harsh smoke of cheap incense or burned wood. It is closer to the haze that lingers in a room some hours after a fine cigar has been put out — quiet, settled, ambient rather than active.
