Most likely female. Ranitomeya variabilis originate from the montane eastern foothills of Peru, close to the Andean mountains at around 300-1200m. Larger on the spectrum of thumbn ail dart frogs, this species ranges around 3/4 of an inch. The 'Southern' locale is a rich metallic blue-green on the body that shifts into a teal blue on the limbs, with numerous large black spots across the entire animal.
