A rare pair of antique scrimshaw sperm whale's teeth of American origin circa 1850. The 8.5 inch long tooth is engraved a three-masted ships approaching land and a lighthouse and o n the reverse a "VIEW OF JERUSALEM" (after William Bartlett's views of the Mid-East). The other tooth is 7.25 inches long and depicts "CONSTITUTION AND GUERRIERE IN CLOSE ENGAGEMENT" and "VIEW OF THE RUINS BALBE" (after Bartlett) Good condition with several old age cracks.
