Raphaela, age 8. Silver gelatin photograph, from the series 'The Other World of Children' There is something about the period of time between ages 6 to 8yrs old. With some children , in some moments, I see a knowing that is beyond their years, where the 8 year old suddenly seems to embody an awareness that is deeply wise and has not yet been chiseled away by life or societal expectations - where some might say the veil is still thin.
