Today, Rapini is found growing in California, Arizona, New Jersey, Quebec and Ontario. As member of the cabbage and turnip family, Rapini is medium to dark green in color with slender stalks topped by clusters of tiny green leaves and buds.Rapini may also sprout small yellow flowers. The entire plant, known for its pungent bitter flavor, is edible. It may be cooked in a variety of ways including frying, steaming and braising and is also popular in Italian soups, stews and salads. Oil extracted from the Rape seed (Rapeseed oil) is commonly marketed as canola oil.Rapini from Melissa’s is hand-selected for excellent quality. Choose freshly colored, firm greens.
