Raspberries are a versatile fruit used to make mouthwatering jams, sauces, purees, soufflés or simply eaten fresh with cream or ice-cream. They are a suckering plant that grow best in cooler climates and prefer a rich well drained soil in a position that does not have exposure to the hot afternoon sun. When planting create a mound of 10-15cm to assist drainage, mulch and keep well watered during growing period.
