The Research Targeted cells and tissues form the skin’s own specialised immune system, playing a vital daily role in the prevention of environmental damage, allergy and disease. Skin immunity, clarity and firmness are directed by a delicately balanced interfusion of biologically active barrier lipids including ceramides, triglycerides and cholesterol. This protective function is fortified by the flexible yet stalwart proteins of the Stratum Corneum’s outermost cells, the corneocytes. Synthesis and maintenance of these vital barrier constituents is highly dependent on Stratum Corneum moisture levels, supported by B-group vitamins, signalling peptides and Essential Fatty Acids.
