Raw Pu’er Tea (Sheng Pu’er) is made from sun-dried large-leaf Yunnan tea leaves (晒青毛茶) and naturally aged through time. It is produced without artificial pile fermentation (wo dui) . When newly made, the liquor appears yellow-green with a bold, intense flavor and noticeable bitterness and astringency. With long-term aging, the tea becomes smoother and more mellow, the liquor gradually turns orange to reddish, and it develops the characteristic quality of improving in aroma and taste with age.
